Sony announced during the September showcase this week that PS5 owners with a PS Plus account will get free & unfettered access to 18 of the best games of the last generation at launch.
It's still got some way to go to match the number of titles available through Xbox Game Pass, but you'd have to be a real miser not to see something appetising on this list:
- Batman: Arkham Knight
- Battlefield 1
- Bloodborne
- Days Gone
- Detroit: Become Human
- Fallout 4
- Final Fantasy XV
- God of War
- Infamous Second Son
- Monster Hunter World
- Mortal Kombat X
- Persona 5
- Ratchet and Clank
- Resident Evil 7: Biohazard
- The Last Guardian
- The Last of Us Remastered
- Uncharted 4: A Thief's End
- Until Dawn
The cynic's view is that they're just trying to bolster a launch line-up that's currently looking a little thin on blockbusters, and there's undoubtedly some truth in that, but this'll give people an opportunity to experience some truly exceptional games for nothing. Not bad.
